We aim to manage trees responsibly
Here at Simply Wood, we have over ten years of experience and are fully qualified and insured. We are able to undertake all aspects of tree and hedge work in line with BS3998.
Whether trimming a privet hedge or managing a mature beech tree we will undertake the work in a courteous and professional manner.
We aim to manage trees in a responsible way. For every tree removed we encourage replanting by donating money directly to a local tree planting group. We also offer our own planting service at a minimal cost.
We are based in Thornbury, north of Bristol and work within the local area.
Our Services
Tree Surgery
We undertake all aspects of tree and hedge maintenance work including: felling, reducing, thinning, bracing, deadwood removal and cutting back.
We provide free quotations and advice on appropriate work. When felling is necessary, Simply Wood donates funds to a local tree planting group aiming to minimise the impact on our overall tree cover.
Tree Planting
If you are considering planting a tree we'd love to help. We offer advice to help you chose the right tree for your needs. We source and plant suitably established trees, typically 8 to 10cm girth at chest height (usually 2.5 to 3m in height). Orders are taken throughout the year and planted during the dormant winter season. Each tree is staked, tied and planted with soil improver to encourage root development.
We offer this service for a minimal profit to encourage tree regeneration.
logs
If you are in need of logs, needless to say we process them regularly! If local we may be able to deliver timber recently processed to you. Please note, as the logs will have come from timber recently felled, they will need to be split and seasoned before use.
Stump Removal
If you have a tree stump you need to have removed we can help. A stump may need to be removed prior to replanting a border or lawn. Removal may also be needed prior to building works or just for aesthetics within the garden setting. We offer a stump grinding service for this purpose.
Milling
As a keen woodworker, I am eager to see that trees that are felled are turned into useful timber.
If a tree stem is straight and of a reasonable size we maybe able to mill at location into boards. These boards can then be seasoned and used at a later date (e.g. for furniture making).
